How much notice is needed to order a cake?
Wedding/christening/novelty/birthday etc.

The more notice given the better but we do not have a minimum time frame on this. For Weddings it might be advisable to order at lease 1 month in advance but 2 to 3 months or even more would be preferable, in particular where fruit cake is being ordered. However orders can be completed in a shorter period. For all other cakes we facilitate you as best we can. Please call or email to find out availability. (See contact details)

 

What size cake do I need?

Depending on the number of people you are intending catering to. The table set out in our Helpful Hints section is intended only as a guide line to help work out portion sizes.

 

What type of cakes and fillings are available?

Rich & Light Fruit cakes Chocolate Biscuit cake Chocolate/Coffee/Lemon/Plain Madeira with the filling of your choice such as Butter Cream fillings or Jams. Chocolate curls and Ganache are also alternative finishes to cakes other then fruit cakes.

 

How long will the cake keep?

Depending on the type of cake, if it is still on its board and has not been cut the following will apply. Fruit cake - up to 3 months. If cut, cover with grease proof paper and tinfoil and eat within 6 weeks. This also applies if the cake has been pierced at all. Chocolate Biscuit cake. Keep wrapped and in a cool place or fridge for up to 4 weeks. Chocolate/Coffee/Lemon/Plain Maderia with butter cream or jam type fillings - up to 5 days. These cakes can also be frozen if required and will good for up to 6 weeks.

Do you deliver and set up the Wedding and other types of cakes?

Yes, an extra charge will be applicable depending on where the cake is to be delivered to.
